Manchester United’s continuous interest in Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov has led to a fatal four way battle of strikers between United, Madrid, Spurs and Newcastle.

United want to add Berbatov to their squad of attacking players. And with Tottenham failed to sign Andrie Arshavin as a replacement has turned their attention to Newcastle star Michael Owen.

But Newcastle will sell Owen to Spurs only if they are successful in landing Javier Saviola from Real Madrid as a replacement for Owen.

Spurs have lined up Michael Owen as a replacement for Dimitar Berbatov, who is expected to move to Manchester United before the transfer window closes. (Sunday Express)

Newcastle will try and bring Real’s out-of-favour Argentine striker Javier Saviola to St James’ s Park on loan. (News of the World)

Real Madrid hold the Ace to this transfer fiasco as only if they agree to loan out Saviola will all the other deals go through.

And with the Relationship between Madrid and Manchester United gone sour recently due to the Ronaldo incident. Madrid might use this as a perfect opportunity to get back at United.
