As per the La Gazzetta Dello Sport’s latest report, Inter Milan and AC Milan top the wage bill in Serie A, with around 120 million euros a year. Juventus is at the third spot with 115 million euros expenditure on wages. While AS Roma spends around 60 million euros an year, is at fourth spot. This clearly shows that, it takes huge wages to build a competitive squad with star players. Fiorentina, Napoli, and Genoa are behind the top four teams in terms of wage bill. This year, overall wage bill of Serie A will be around 768.4 million euros, with an increase of 101.9 million from that of last year.

Inter Milan’s star striker Ibrahamovic is the top earner in Serie A with 11 million euros an year. While AC Milan’s playmaker Kaka comes second with 9 million euros an year. Gigi Buffon and Patrick Viera receive around 5 million euros, while David Trezeguet, Alex Del Piero gets more than 4.5 million euros an year. With Spanish and English clubs running after star players, it is highly unlikely that the wage bill will go down soon.
