With European giant Manchester united pursuing Benzema during last transfer window and now the cash rich Manchester City dreaming about him, Lyon had no other choice, but to come up with a statement that Karim Benzema will cost 100 million euros for a transfer. Not only Manchester united and Manchester city, there are so many top clubs in Europe tracking the development of this French sensation. That what prompted Jean-Michel Aulas, the Lyon president to say, that clubs who want to buy Benzema has to shell out record sum to lure this star player away. Aulas said, “We have signed a contract with him until 2013, with a get-out clause of 100million euros. Benzema is an integral part of their bid to progress beyond the last 16 of the Champions League.”
