The 4-0 victory over Roma, with Stankovic, Obinna and Ibrahimovic all scoring has left Inter Milan sitting at the top of the Serie A table, with a 2 point lead.
Speaking after the match, Mourinho said “It was the best Inter performance of the season and we dominated for the whole match,”
“We did very well and I think the team showed a lot of intelligence to interpret the game and I am very happy. A 4-0 scoreline in a big game like this and with that kind of performance is an important result indeed.”
Ibrahimovic, who has played a fantastic season so far, received most of the praise, with Mourinho saying:
“Ibra always tries to find space between the lines. He can play in any tactical system; can be a centre-forward with the team supporting him by pushing up the field. He is a real team player and I think he is very important for Inter.
However, there wasnt praise for everybody, with the Inter Milan manager criticising Ricardo Quaresma who played a disappointing first half.
“Quaresma obviously needs to improve,” said Mourinho. “He is a great talent, but the joy I have at seeing the way Ibra works for and with the team I do not yet have with Quaresma. He will have to learn, otherwise he won’t play, and I am sure he’ll change and become more tactically disciplined.”
