Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho sent striker Adriano home after showing up late to training on Tuesday, which marks the second time in a month, after having reportedly spent all of the previous night in a nightclub. As a result, he has been dropped from the club’s game at Fiorentina on Wednesday along with striker Julio Ricardo Cruz. His previous lateness meant he sat out the 4-0 victory over AS Roma.

The lack of discipline is clearly beginning to grate on Mourinho, and given Adriano’s problem with discipline throughout his career there is a potential that his future at the club may suffer if he does not show more willingness to act professionally.

Missing training sessions doesnt appear to be something that Adriano can afford given his drop in goalscoring from 29 goals in 2005 and 2006, to only having scored once in Serie A this season.

Mourinho has, however, refused to comment to the press on the matters:

“I talked to the players that I had to talk to, I talked to the team.

“Everything is clear, like always. For this reason I talk only about the players in the squad for Wednesday’s game.

“I’m not commenting on anything else.”

“The relationship between us (me and the squad) doesn’t need to be put in question.

“A relationship does not mean we always have to be kissy kissy.”
