Manchester City player Shaun Wright-Phillips may face action from the Football Association after making a two fingered gesture at manager Gareth Southgate, following City’s defeat against Middlesborough.
The argument seemed to have been sparked by Southgate accusing Wright-Phillips of acting up to win a foul.
After the match, Southgate commented:
“I didn’t think he was fouled and he didn’t like the way I spoke to him,” said Southgate.
“We were both in the wrong. I saw him in the tunnel and that is the end of it.”
If the referee of the match, Lee Mason, includes the altercation in his incident report then Shaun Wright-Phillips faces the possibility of a Football Association charge
