JUANDE RAMOS has emerged as a shock outsider to take charge of Real Madrid if they sack under-fire boss Bernd Schuster.

SunSport understands Ramos, axed by Spurs just three weeks ago, has been sounded out by the Spanish giants.

Despite taking a battering in England, Ramos’ reputation in Spain remains high after leading Seville to domestic and European glory.

Real Madrid crashed out of the Spanish Cup on away goals to Third Division minnows Real Union on Tuesday.

Although Ramos is in the Madrid frame, technical director Miguel Angel Portugal is hot favourite if Schuster goes.

The German coach said: “I don’t doubt about my continuity but I understand others do.

“Everyone has to have a lot of doubts with the team and with my work.”
