Newcastle are reportedly interested in Wolfsburg defender Marcel Schafer to solve their left sided defensive woes.
The Club is also looking into the possibility of bringing in the much more experienced Stephen Warnock, but incase Blackburn refuse to budge, Schafer is the backup or alternative.
It is also very unlikely that Warnock will move to Newcastle as Blackburn are adamant to keep the player and Manchester City are also interested. And in a bidding war between Newcastle and Manchester City, there is no doubt who will come out on top.
Schafer although a experienced player himself, might find it difficult to settle in the English game. Which many Left backs coming from Europe have already been through, Evra, Dossena?
The 24 year old, 6 feet German player has also just been called up to the International Squad.
On the other hand manager Joe Kinnear is also keeping tabs on Ex-Liverpool man John Arne Risse who had move to AS Roma in the summer but has yet failed to make a mark. Surely he would relish a chance to return to England.
The Other Player Newcastle is Interested in is Arsenal’s young midfielder Denilson. The young Gunner would be filling in the gap left by injured Joey Barton. Whether Arsene Wenger would be willing to let Denilson go at current situations would be a huge doubt though.
