Pascal Chimbonda says Lyon have not contacted him but he would jump at the chance of moving to the French champions.
The ex-Wigan and Spurs defender is aware that Lyon are on the lookout for a new right-back in the January transfer window after injuries to their first and second choice players.
And with the 29-year-old having struggled to nail down a regular start at Sunderland, reports now suggest Chimbonda is their top target.
“Who would refuse Lyon? Me, I would go there on foot to sign (for them),” he told Aujourd’hui Sport.
“For the moment, they haven’t called me. But I do not hide the fact that I am happy a big club is interested in me.
“With Lyon, you get the Champions League and the Ligue 1 title every year. OL, for a player like me, would be a very good solution.”
