ARSENE WENGER wants to add another ‘Young Gun’ to his youthful Arsenal side – flying Dutchman Eljero Elia.
The 21-year-old, who can play as a winger or a striker, is in fine form for Steve McClaren’s FC Twente side.
Elia is so desperate for a move to the Premier League he has already turned down a move to top Spanish outfit Valencia because his dream is ‘to play in England’.
That has alerted a host of clubs including Manchester City, Everton, Blackburn and Hull. But Arsenal are at the front of the queue for the Dutch Under-21 ace who could cost £6million.
Gunners manager Wenger travelled north to watch Elia in UEFA Cup action at City earlier this month and he scored in a 3-2 defeat.
Arsenal’s Dutch scout Peter Clarke is a big fan.
And sources at Twente now expect Elia to follow the likes of Dutch stars Dennis Bergkamp and Robin van Persie to North London.
