Joe Kinnear may soon be facing difficulties at Newcastle United after The People’s claim that Obafemi Martins is unhappy with the current state of uncertainty at the club over ownership and manager, and is looking to relocate when the January transfer window opens, and the incident in United’s match against Middlesborough where Martins stormed off to the dressing room after being substituted can only exacerbate the problem.
With Michael Owen’s contract with the Magpies drawing to a close at the end of this season, and teams such as Liverpool expressing interest in the player, Kinnear could shortly be left with no real striking talent to speak of.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both said to be interested in the player, and the finances of both clubs is strong enough to meet the £13m buy out clause in the former Inter Milan star’s contract.
