Reports have emerged that Liverpool Captain Steven Gerrard will receive a £1m penthouse in The Steven Gerrard Tower to be built on the Palm Jebel Ali, in exchange for using his name and promoting the structure.

Yesterday, Gerrard was at a press conference at the Dorchester Hotel in London, promoting the new property:

“Azizi Investments is a very reputable developer in the United Arab Emirates and the area of Palm Jebel Ali is stunning.

“I have thanked Mr Azizi for this honour and I am looking forward to working with him on this project

“The vision and quality of the Azizi brand was what inspired me to be a part of this new forthcoming development”

A spokesman for Azizi Property Developments, the creators of the luxury complex, said:
