19 year old Benfica striker Freddy Adu, who had been touted as the next big thing in football, has spoken of his dream to play in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur. However, the United States national has failed to live up to the hype since his move from American MLS, and in the last seven games for Monaco has failed to score. A move to Spurs may seem unlikely given his current success rate, and his singling out of Spurs as one of Europe’s top five clubs seems rather suspect.
Speaking to ESPN the player stated:
“My dream is to play for one of the top European clubs, the top five.
“Tottenham are also one of my dreams, since I supported them as a boy. My objective is the Premier League, which is for me the best league in the world.”
