Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have been linked with a move for Gokhan Inler.

Arsene Wenger has admitted he tried to take the Swiss international to Arsenal during the summer, although he insists he will not be renewing his interest this month.

This may well be something the Frenchman comes to regret if, as reported, Harry Redknapp makes an offer to take the midfielder to White Hart Lane.

It is believed Spurs are prepared to pay around £8million for the 24-year-old Inler, who has been with Italian club Udinese since signing from Zurich in 2007
