Thierry Henry, the Captain of the French Football Team, the Guy who led France into the 2010 World Cup held in South Africa, the guy who should be ashamed of himself, the guy who single handedly cheated and earned his team a place qualification into the 2010 World Cup, this Thierry Henry should be ashamed of himself, should be put to the sword, should be made to apologize to the entire footballing world and according to me should be banned from playing in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The ex-Arsenal forward and Captain, wore the captains band for the French side this week against a Irish side who more than deserved to win the match and go into the world-cup finals. The Barcelona forward intentionally controlled the ball with his left hand and than made a angled pass to William Gallas who headed the ball into the net in extra time to make the score 1-1 and gave the French side a 2-1 Aggregate win over their Irish counterparts.

Thierry Henry after the match even admitted the fact that he controlled the ball with his left arm and said that “It was the referee’s fault not mine” But that statement won’t help the Irish fans. Would it? They still won’t see their side in the 2010 World Cup, they still not be able to cheer their side in South Africa would they? They still can’t forget the fact that their side was robbed from playing in the biggest tournament in the world. Can they?

If Iconic Players like Thierry Henry don’t play the game in the right spirit, than what about the next generation of superstars, the fans to be precise, who adore these superstars, try to emulate them. What can you expect from them?

If players like Henry who support, who stand for the call of “FAIR PLAY” by FIFA, if they themselves start CHEATING like this than what’s the whole point of this FAIR PLAY gimmick?

In my view and also in millions of Football fans who saw Henry CHEAT his way into the world-cup finals, our respect for HENRY is LOST. And this isn’t the first time he’s cheated either. He hasn’t got a clean history. Diving, Spitting on referees and now the HANDBALL incident, Henry isn’t the purest guy on the football pitch is he?

According to me, Henry Cheated and thus the entire French team Cheated and hence they don’t deserve the World-Cup qualification. Henry deserves a harsh punishment and if it means him missing the WORLD-CUP than be it. The message from FIFA should be clear to all players, whoever you are, the Biggest name or an Amateur, a manager or a player, when you play the game you should play it according to the rules and any sort of CHEATING will not be entertained AT ALL.

My heart goes out to the entire IRISH team and all the Irish fans who I know are very disappointed. The entire footballing world is with you and the CHEATS shall be Punished Harsh.
