The 24 year old was sent to a specialist in Barcelona and, according to recent reports, he will not have recuperated within a fortnight as was originally anticipated by the Liverpool staff. This means he will sit out the following six matches and, after ... Read More

It seems that Roy Keane has left Sunderland. He had recently spoken about a three year plan which would run out at the end of the season, but it had been assumed that due to his popularity with fans and successes since taking over in 2006 that it was an empty threat designed to give him a stronger bargaining position in contract talks. Instead, it seems that Keane's disappointment at Sunderland recently dropping into the relegation zone is the straw that broke ... Read More

Arsenal seem set to loan striker Jay Simpson to Norwich City after manager Arsene Wenger spoke of his desire to get the younger and less experienced players to get regular action, which is something many of them are unlikely to be able to accomplish in Arsenal's first team.
If Simpson does make a move to Norwich it seems that Wenger will want guarantees that he is getting this regular playing experience. Derby County and West Bromwich have also expressed an interest in the ... Read More

Despite rumours that Yaya was set to make a move to Arsenal, where brother Kolo is a permanent fixture, the 25 year old seems highly unlikely to transfer from Barcelona. Regardless of The Sun's story that Wenger is planning a £7million bid, Yaya seems determined to stay at Barcelona, and £7million is surely too for Toure:
"I am here because I like this team and it is a great club.
“I will be staying here because I am delighted with the side and because ... Read More

Ex-Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has commented that despite Liverpool currently being at the top of the Premiership they are unlikely to win the title. Mourniho instead said:
"Liverpool have had a very good start but, when it comes down to it, I think it will be between Chelsea and Manchester United,”
Is this a fair comment from the Inter Milan manager? Although there is only one point between Liverpool and Chelsea, Liverpool have consistently stayed on or near the top of the table. ... Read More

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger looks set to move to AC Milan after problems have arisen in contract talks. The representatives of the 23 year old had demanded that his wages be doubled to more than £70,000 per week but the club looks unlikely to meet this demand and, despite Benitez's hope of securing a long term contract for Agger, the wage demands appear to be a dealbreaker for the club. Real Madrid have previously expressed an interested in the defender.
It seems unclear, however, ... Read More

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has spoken of his disappointment at the performances of Robbie Keane after having to substitute him for the 15th time this season, during the Red's draw against West Ham. Keane cost Liverpool £20.3million and it seems they are still waiting to reap the benefits of this fee. Although Benitez was diplomatic in his commentary, actions speak louder than words and taking a former Spurs goalscoring hero off of the pitch for inexperienced striker David Ngog no doubt shows the ... Arsene Wenger is rumoured to be planning to bid for Chelsea's 23 year old forward when the January transfer window opens. Wenger's original bid in the summer was rejected by Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari and the chance of Scolari giving up a player to rivals Arsenal, particularly after being losing to Arsenal in a crucial match which leaves this with the possibility of a title win, seems unlikely. Lack of capital at Arsenal also appears to pose a problem.
Rumours nevertheless persist that an ... Read More
