Barcelona 1-0 Levante
Samuel Eto’o scored in the 28th minute after good work from Messi, Ronaldinho and Xavi to give Barcelona the lead at the Nou Camp.
Barcelona started two pointe behind provisional leaders Sevilla, and were in charge from the word go.
Deco had the ball in the back of the net in the 19th minute after sneaking it off Alexis - who was trying to be too clever and bring it out of defence himself.
However, it was ruled out for offside, the Portuguese coming back from an offside position. You could sense, though, that such defending would not take Levante too far.
It was a superb piece of collective play that resulted in the first goal, nine minutes later.
Messi sent a good ball into the area, it bounced off Ronaldinho and fell to Xavi, who forced a save out of an onrushing Molina. However, Samuel Eto’o was at hand to pounce on it with the keeper stranded.
It was nothing less than they had deserved, and Levante will actually consider themselves lucky to go into the break just 1-0 behind. Barcelona, in turn, will want to wrap it up to avoid nasty surprises.
