21 year old Serbian star Zoran Tosic has received an international work permit to play at Old Trafford, after United mounted a battle to allow the move given that Tosic had not played enough games to qualify automatically for a move.

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has insisted that the club are in no rush to sign a new contract deal with Cristiano Ronaldo. The statement follows reports that Ronaldo's agency wants United to sit down for contract talks soon, however Ferguson is happy with Ronaldo's current contract.

Steve Bennett, one of the leading referees, has described how the FA's Respect campaign is collapsing, and described the behaviour of managers and players as being akin to "ravenous animals smelling blood".
